The Clark County Sheriff’s Office will no longer hire smokers or allow current deputies to light up or chew tobacco while on duty. Sheriff Gene Kelly announced the no-smoking policy in an email to sheriff’s personnel last week, citing the health hazards and life-threatening diseases linked to tobacco smoke. The policy took effect May 1.
