The race for Clark County commission seats is heating up already, about 16 months before the election. Longtime Clark County Commissioner John Detrick announced he won’t seek re-election in 2016 after serving on the board for nearly 20 years. “I’ve had four careers and this has been very rewarding mentally to me,” Detrick said. His departure, along with former Commissioner David Hartley’s abrupt resignation earlier this year, means there will be two seats up for grabs on the November 2016 ballot.
